Yesterday evening, I took a walk to Edsviken and captured some nice photos. I have put the best ones in a new Sunset web album.

Late June flowers in Vibeke's garden

Earlier this morning, I walked over to the home of a recent acquaintence of mine, Vibeke. A native of Denmark, she has some of the most lovely gardens in the neighborhood. With her permission — nay, at her prompting — I took some photographs of her flowers.









Vibeke told me that other flowers will be in bloom in just a week or two, so I will have to return to her garden soon. More to come!

Close-ups on an overcast day

Today was overcast. The light wasn't perfect for photography, but I tried a few close-ups anyway.



I used my 50mm f/1.4D lens for all of these shots. It lets me get in a little closer to the subject than the big zoom.

The big 70-200 zoom lens has a minimum focus distance of 1.5 m, while this lens can focus on objects much closer (perhaps 30-50 cm away).

This lens is also the fastest (brightest) in my bag. Check out the honey bee!

After I returned from my bike ride, I went for a walk and took some more photos with my new camera.
